Every week, I write down all the things that I have to include in my weekly roundups; I got to Wednesday this week and realized I had nothing written. I thought I’d be skipping this week, but I’ve managed to scrape some things together. Shout out Miley Cyrus for a serving look after New Year’s Eve look.
She’s a quick one this week, but consistency keeps me sane, so let’s get into the fashion and unsolicited opinions.
You’re probably wondering what Travis Scott’s return to Instagram has to do with fashion. Well, some of your fave designers were in the comments showing him ~luv~ as if he was the victim in the whole Astroworld situation. Kim Jones commented three hearts, no doubt wondering how to salvage his collaboration with Scott. Marc Jacobs also made an appearance. Disappointing. @ideservecouture worded my feelings perfectly.
Vogue China January 2022; I can’t find too much information on this shoot from Vogue China, but when these photos popped up on my Twitter feed, I gasped. American Vogue could never.
- I retract any positive statements I made about Kendall’s dress last week. Those bows going down the center are a hard pass for me and I’m not understanding the two different fabrics happening. Khloe looks beautiful, the dress isn’t super interesting, but I enjoy it and I always like seeing a smaller designer. Love Kourtney in Blumarine. Her new Hot Topic, rockstar gf era makes me giggle, but I’m into it. Kim is wearing Balenciaga, of course, and I love this brown color; it’s lovely. I really don’t mind Kim’s Balenciaga era, however I would like some more interesting moments every once in a while.
- I don’t usually like judging children, but Penelope Disick really ate Kourtney up.
- It’s really giving bathing suit and beach coverup; not UNICEF gala.
- Miley served us a lot of immaculate looks, but this was not one of them. Strange seeing her in Dolce. Strange seeing anyone in Dolce, but, didn’t she beef with them? Weird.
- It got better with a Mugler moment. It’s simple, but I actually don’t mind the varying, hanging chains. They could look a little more put together on the boot.
- I think Miley in Saint Laurent is really smart styling. She makes sense for the brand and the direction it’s going in now. Love this red color; fits her great.
- I LOVE this Versace look. I think it’s a great incorporation of both Versace and country style. The movement and the shine is fabulous.
- This is probably my favorite look. She looks SO great. Miley might have had a wardrobe malfunction with this top, but she handled it like a boss. I love this tattered chain mail moment.
- Red and pink are one of my favorite color combinations, so I’m inclined to like this, and I do. Very Gucci, and I love how the pink feathers are also on the bottom of the dress, in red.
- This is super hot. This color looks amazing on her and I love this structured, loop cutout. I love how the gold heels match the hardware of the dress, and all the accessories have a circular vibe.
- I literally don’t care what you have to say, Pete Davidson in this Mia Vesper look is everything to me. He looks great and I want this outfit. Pete definitely loves playing with colors and prints. Sometimes it’s confusing, but sometimes it really pays off, and this time, it’s really paying off.
- Saweetie wore two Dolce looks to perform at Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, and I just don’t understand. Like, was it worth it? I would have loved to see her in something from Area or Blumarine. Similar vibe, but would have definitely looked better.
- Dula Peep gave us a Bottega moment, and I love this dress, but I think we could have done a more interesting shoe.
- I really enjoyed Lizzo in this custom AZ Factory moment. She looks like a bouquet of flowers, but like if Edna Mode designed it.
- However, this did not give me that same energy. I felt like this looked like a leotard that was unclipped on the bottom. I’m also not really loving this boot.
- Miss Ginny Weasley is a Prada girl and that means a lot to me. This yellow coat is delicious. I need Prada to stop making coats that I need but can’t afford.
- If I had to see Jeff Bezos in this Casablanca top, then so do you. This is, in fact, NOT Pitbull. Jeff wore this on New Year’s Eve and since then, I have had the most sinister stomach bug. Coincidence? I think not.
- Okay, this coat is everything. I <3 Cardi.
- Sorry, I still love this Miu Miu collection, so I have to acknowledge it whenever I see it.
- Who put Normani in Alexander Wang? This is not the first image I wanted to see on the first day of the year. A BAD OMEN. It’s interesting how quick we’re being in forgiving a sex offender.
I know, I know, kind of dry. It’s not my fault. Blame the fashion girls. In everyone’s defense, the week between Christmas and New Year’s makes no sense. Okay, well, I’m lucid and fighting something that is not COVID, so I g2g.
