Happy Holidays sweet angels. I did nothing this Christmas except dress up far more than anyone else in the room, as I’m wont to do. I also watched Spencer, It Happened On 5th Avenue, Eloise At Christmastime, and the season finale of Hawkeye. Sucession was also sprinkled in, because nothing says Happy Holidays more than a dysfunctional, toxic family<3
There’s not too much to discuss today, but I was also not paying too much attention this week, so!
D*lce announced it's support for Miss Sohee this week, and I am torn. While I love seeing a young designer being given the support that they deserve, I hate that it’s coming from such a shitty brand. Earlier this year, D&G helped Harris Reed create their Met Gala look for Iman, which surprised me, and this time is no different. The problem with D*olce’s latest redemption tour is that I don’t think they ever learn their lesson. They are who they are, and they’ve shown time and time again how awful they continue to be in more ways than one.
Versace Pre-Fall 2022 was not bad! Sure there were some moments where I did not understand what was going on, at all. Weird cutouts, questionable prints, things that made me yawn. But also, those fucking shoes that have me in a choke hold, and three beaded looks that were that stole the whole show. The beaded motifs looked like open fans, and I really wish they’d done more of that; they also reminded me a bit of SS21. I also enjoy the styling of opposite color outfit and accessories, however don’t love these dresses. And honestly, still here for a peek-a-boo g-string moment. The beautifully tailored coats were nice, and I’d love to see more of this lux direction this collection seems to be taking. Imagine the Haim sisters in this and Chloe and Halle in this.
Gucci is not letting the girls breath!!! Balenciaga and Gucci seem to be going head-to-head in who can stay fresh on our minds the longest. We aren’t sure yet what this collab entails entirely, but like, I’m sure some monogrammed sneakers or tracksuits are a safe bet!
- Mariaha Carey for Harper’s Bazaar; I think the Queen of Christmas looks gorg in this shoot, however I wish it was giving more Christmas? I do love the Valentino cape and blue gloves. I think those two colors look really lovely together. The belt on the Khaite dress was not necessary, but it is a nice knit. Also a crime that this Loewe dress is barely visible. Are these shots kind of confusing to some people? Like, they look like outtakes. Styled by Evan Jourden.
- Kim Petras for Paper; I’m obsessed with this. We didn’t get too many looks, but I loved how they incorporated her new single, Coconuts (a banger), into the shoot, and also combined it with Christmas. It works. Styled by Marta Del Rio.
- Everyone really showed out for the The Matrix Resurrections premiere, huh? idc, I like this suit on Neil Patrick Harris, however, it would have went super hard on Willem Dafoe at the Spider-Man: No Way Home premiere, because he played the green goblin.
- Carrie-Anne Moss in custom Oscar de la Renta was truly stunning. This dress is the actual plot of the movie. The embellishments felt very Oscar, while also looking like the coding in The Matrix. It was really lovely. The bullet ring was also a nice touch.
- Respectfully looking at Yahya Abdul-Mateen ll in this Bottega Veneta look.
- You’re joking. How good does she look?! I really love all the wraps and ties of this look. I’m not sure how I feel about that pointed heel.
- Leave it to Elsa Hosk to make Michael Kors look cool as fuck.
- There is absolutely no good photo of this dress, but from what I can tell, it does look really lovely. It’s a simple mermaid gown, but the cut and fit are stun.
- Chanel raised the prices of their bags, AGAIN. I know their customers will still buy them, but lol relax, bitch.
So, that was that! I did unfortunately watch all of Emily In Paris Season 2. Expect a review on the fashion. If I had to watch it, you have to listen to me complain about it.
