Hello everyone. Last night there was a cricket in my room and really, that’s all you need to know.
Anyway, we’ve got a lil bit of fashion news and alotta bit of good fashion moments this week. There’s a Lee Pace magazine cover that is worth your time alone.
Rihanna has fed us again. I think Vol.2 has been my fave so far, but I still loved this show. Normani is insane, and Parris Goebel’s choreography always has me in a chokehold. I also feel like a lot more things that were in the show are actually being sold this time around, which I appreciate because the minute I saw those silver, pleated lamé looks and latex gloves, I was like yes, please. Also!!! We love seeing ex-Victoria’s Secret angels finding the light.
We all know SheIn is trash. Not only are they a fast fashion brand that uploads thousands of new products to their site every day, but they are known to copy the work of small designers and brands. Now they’re coming for Rick Owens, which like bold. It’s really insane to me that SheIn literally exists and does things like putting on a competition show to help emerging designers, when they themselves have profited off of the designs of emerging designers.
Gucci has opened an online concept store. Vault will carry vintage Gucci pieces, as well as designs from other emerging designers. Alessandro Michele stated, "In my mind, I always had the idea to create a place in constant evolution where ‘impossible’ conversations between objects from different origins, creators, and eras could take place. I said to myself: ‘Why can’t a fashion house with a creative director also have a space for expressive, aesthetic, and social contaminations?’" I think designers are constantly thinking of ways to make shopping experiences work in a COVID era and this idea is an interesting experience.
Glenn Martens, the creative director of Diesel and Y/Project will be collaborating with JPG on his next couture show. Should be interesting!
Nike is partnering with Meg for Fit Girl Fall!!! Honestly, I think this collab is cute. I love Meg and I love how genuine this feels and how open she’s been with her fitness journey.
- Wizkid for GQ; I love this! It got me from the first Issey Miyake look. I liked how free it felt, and these shots are too good. Styled by Karen Binns.
- Nicole Kidman for Harper’s Bazaar; Not my favorite styling and there was a D&G look, but there were some good moments. I wish they tied the styling of these looks more into her character from Nine Perfect Strangers, since that’s a main point of the feature, and since she was kind of method for the role. Styled by Stella Greenspan.
- Ester Expósito For Harper’s Bazaar Mexico; I love Schiaparelli and I loved this collection so I love this dress. I know she’s a Bulgari girlie, but I really wish there had been some Schiaparelli jewelry used instead. Also loved this Valentino gown she wore for the shoot. Styled by Victor Blanco.
- Billie Eilish for Elle; I loved this shoot and how personal it felt. I’ve mentioned this before, but I’m enjoying seeing Billie evolve her style and play on elevating her signature, oversized looks. Styled by Patti Wilson.
- Timothée Chalamet for Vogue Plus China; Timmy is the first cover star and guest editor of Vogue China’s newest platform. I very much enjoy it, like I do most things related to this man, however it would have been nice to see something a little bit more interesting. Styled by Alvin Yu.
- Jake Gyllenhaal for The Sunday Times Style; I’ve only seen the cover image, and she’s simple but I’m here for it, he looks clean (sorry, I’m sorry). Imagining that pink Prada sweater without the t-shirt underneath. That would have been a good time! Styled by Julie Ragolia.
-Sydney Sweeney for ContentMode; I really enjoyed these images. Not the most interesting looks, but still cute and fun!
- Lee Pace for Esquire; Alexa, play Good Wife by Kacey Musgraves. I don’t know what I did to be blessed with all the Lee Pace content lately, but I feel like my karmic cycle must be on the right path. For that reason, I have no complaints about this cover shoot.
Miley in Paco Rabanne being so cutie.
Dula Peep making Thom Browne appeal to the insta girlies. Also how do y’all feel about celebrities being styled for just everyday looks? Doing the most or doing what needs to be done???
Gabrielle Union in House of Aama giving me the most life.
Rihanna in fresh off the runway LaQuan Smith. She’s always the moment.
I love seeing Naomi in Alaïa since she was so close to Azzedine.
Kimberly really had to suck it up and admit that Kourtney is actually having a moment and is the most interesting ATM to get that SKIMS coin.
Jourdan Dunn in this cute little Miss Sohee lewk.
Behati in vintage Gucci by Tom Ford is something that I didn’t know I needed.
Amandla in this Gucci look made me GASP. I really wish she kept the blazer off.
Cynthia Erivo in Paco Rabanne. Ugh I really do love these chainmail moments from Paco.
Meghan Markle keeping the English royals relevant in this cute and comfy Loro Piana set.
Emma Chamberlain in Supriya Lele. EMMA!!!
So that happened this week. How are you liking these? Helpful? Digestible? A good time? Lee Pace was worth it?
Till next time my sweet bby angels.
xx
