Are you sick of me yet this week? Because we ain’t done yet. With fashion month, red carpets, The MET Gala and more, you will be very well fed this week.
The VMAs happened this week and people wore things, so let’s talk about it.
I love that she’s wearing Miss Sohee. The plissé, clam-like breast cups are very nice and I think they look good against the black velvet, however you know I’m about to say I hate that mesh in the center. It makes the look feel ill fitting.
Are is known for trimming their clothing in crystals, which can be seen here on the jacket, and I love! However, I wish the bralette from the original look was used instead, and I think it would have been nice if the jacket was buttoned so you could see the heart shaped cutout. The pants could also fit a bit better.
I love Bia playing into her song lyrics and wearing Bottega, it makes perfect sense. I really like this dress and I think the strappy shoe ties in perfectly with the strings of the dress. However, I don’t like that the necklace is covering the halter neckline. I don’t think a necklace was necessary.
I’m not sure who Billie is wearing, but I really like this. This oversized knit sweater, with skirt peeking out, and chunky shoes feels very true to her typical style, while elevating it a little bit. I love that Billie is starting to feel more comfortable in herself and exploring her fashion sense.
This looks like what appears to be a metallic leather? Did it have potential? Yeah, I think so. However, the fit is really throwing me off. We know Billy is capable of turning a look, so this just isn’t impressive.
I love this Cavali gown, I think it’s great. I like the boot and the feather trim. Aaliyah actually wore this gown inn 2001, and many women have worn varieties of it in the past, so it’s nice to see Bretman in it. I feel like he’s really into choosing the things he wears, which is refreshing.
I can’t believe I actually like something that Camila Cabello is wearing, but I think this is really cute. I like the structure of the bustier, and I love the way the red and pink play off of each other in the bow.
Are we un-canceling Alexander Wang now? I get she’s young, and I guess she’s dressing for her age here, but it’s boring and I just don’t care. Also the choker and hair is very much giving Orphan.
I’m a fan of Charli’s and this new era she’s entering is really intriguing to me, however this is not giving what it was supposed to give. There just had to have been some way this look could have been elevated.
I’ve noticed that Chloe and Haley dress a lot less matchy-matchy lately and I wonder if that has to do with them venturing out on solo projects? This Monot look on Haley is great. The boobies look really good, and I appreciate whoever tailored this to suit her body instead of taking it straight off the runway. Chloe in Marni however is just not it. While it’s no surprise that it’s Marni, there are far better looks that don’t look like aluminum foil covering your veggies on a grill.
It’s no secret that this dress fits her like a glove and that the lace is lovely. I just feel like I’ve seen this before and I also think I would have liked the ribbons to be satin instead of velvet.
Fits her great, but it’s just boring. There were more interesting Aliette looks to choose from, I’m sure of it. Also, I always say this, but Dixie has fashion girl potential. A little part of me always looks forward to her shoots, even though I pay attention to nothing else she does, SO I want to see her serve a look.
I love the color way of this look, however it just doesn’t make sense to me. Also giving me Lady Marmalade.
I AM however living for this Westwood look. It doesn’t make sense to me either, but this time in a good way. It’s cooky and very Doja, and the chair hat is a yes for me, because why not?! The knife belt though, eh.
This was my favorite Doja look from the night. She said she looked like a worm, but like, who said that’s a bad thing! I would enjoy being a Thom Browne worm.
Let’s take a moment of silence for these AVAVAV claw boots. No, I don’t think you understand, I’m OBSESSED.
The barocco print is obviously very Versace, but it’s just boring. I know Ed Sheeran probably doesn’t give a shit about fashion, but if he wanted to go simple, there are more interesting ways to do that.
I saw a lot of people hating on this, but I don’t hate it? It’s simple, but I love a shorts suit, and I think the delicate, embroidered floral detail is sweet. The necklace ties in nicely and feels like an alternative to a tie.
Green, leather suit. Simple, but great! I think the green bottom of the Bottega boots ties in nicely, and I’m not mad about it. Maybe the pants could have been tailored a bit.
Ugh, the feather hat, amazing. Pier Paolo is so good with color blocking, and I think it’s nice to see a short hem instead of the long, couture gowns we’re used to! Shoe is a bit boring though.
Everyone hated this, but I love it. Quintessential Richard Quinn with crystal incrusted florals and gimp like latex bodysuits. I’m all here for it.
I like Travis’ look more than Kourtneys, but they’re both not bad! Travis is in a simple studded Thom Browne suit that is very rockstar boyfriend, and I like the neckline of Kourtney’s dress a lot.
Is this not what he wears all the time?
I believe Lil Nas was referencing Prince with this look, and I think it’s an interesting Versace look! I honestly don’t mind the train, however I do mind the asymmetry in the shoulders.
Other than the fact that it’s Dolce, so ew, this just isn’t that interesting. I guess I like the exposed lacing on the side. If we’re being honest, I can’t get past the powdery tights.
Megan’s look reminds me of the iconic Rose McGowan look and she’s obviously hot as fuck, however I wish the crystal encrusted lines on the dress accentuated her body more, like a lot of the bodysuits we usually see from Casey Cadwallader. I also hate the shoes. MGK is in Dolce and that’s that on that.
I love this. It’s simple but fun, and that jacket is IT.
So here’s the thing… I love the colors, I like the fit of the bustier, and I like the organza over silk. HOWEVER, it looks like that mesh has seen some things. It seems to be completely missing between her hips and knees, and the bottom looks like it has lost the original mermaid silhouette it once had.
While this look is very Paris, and I’m sure she was ~sliving~ for it, it’s just boring. I feel like the things she usually wears would probably be labeled cheugy by the youths, and I want her to be a fashion queen.
You know what, it’s not terrible. The cape top and attached sleeves are interesting, and the boot is giving me Rick Owns inspo. It’s whatevs.
I always like when men wear Chanel since they don’t technically make clothes for men. I mean you can obviously wear whatever your heart desires, Chanel just doesn’t produce “menswear” collections. I like this! I just wish the pants were tailored better, but you saw that coming.
Not very icy. Very much melted. This is so boring and I know there are fabulous metallic Valentino looks, so what was the reason?!
Proud of Shawn for not wearing the same boring, fitted suit and Chelsea boot he always wears! I still don’t like the shoe, but the suit and the simple tank underneath is nice. The pants pool at the bottom a taaaaad too much. So I think a stiffer fabric or a shorter leg would have been better.
Tie-dye fruit roll-up but make it fashion.
The 3D printed top? Gag worthy. The skirt? Garbage.
It’s Dolce AND it’s not very great.
If you’re gonna do simple, this is how you should do it. Could it have been more interesting, of course, but I’ll take it.
Obsessed, this is such a cute moment. Maybe more interesting shoe? But, I love.
And those were the VMAs! What did you guys think? I’d say best dressed was Kim Petras and worst had to be Charlie. I don’t want to be mean to children but /:
